The bed-posts on this unique piece are fashioned from heavy, weathered oak timbers. They lean inward at the top, toward the riveted iron bulwark that arches across the middle. The Trestle Bed will make a powerfully nostalgic statement in any room. If you stop and listen you can almost hear the night whistle of the old train as it lumbers by, somewhere between sweet dreams and fond memories.
This bed is a cool reminder of the great bridges of old, which provided weary travelers a way across, in much the same way that the end-of-day crosses over to peaceful slumber.
The trestle bridges of old were made by hand, and stood like an elegant promise of safe passage. The Trestle Bed is also made by hand, by our gifted artisan blacksmiths. The finish shown here is "vintage ivory" but is available in natural black (standard) or your choice of the many custom finishes offered above.
